Error -1 when attempting to use locally installed MP3 file
I'm trying to play a local MP3 file using the radio. It's in a subdirectory of the sound folder, and the path I am entering is relative to the sound folder. The sound can be played in-game completely fine using the play command. I tried both with and without the file:// prefix, but it didn't do anything. The entered path also includes the extension.

The radio's working even though it's showing an error. It's playing the audio perfectly fine.

And I cannot stop it from playing.

After running snd_restart I can't get it to start again.

Strange. This looks like a bug to me. Can you send me the file you are trying to play? Does it happen in single Player too, if so we can ruleout server issues?

I haven't even tried it in a multiplayer game yet. This[drive.google.com] is the MP3 file I was trying to play.

Thanks. Does it happen with other files aswell? Can you rule out addon conflicts?

I've disabled all of my other addons and tried multiple other sound files included in Half-Life 2, none of them worked.

I did test the file and it was fine for me and for others too. However it doesn't mean your problem isn't there.

There is a big update on the way that might be out tomorrow. I think the update could help you on this issue. Please stay tuned, I will let you know when it is out.

New update is released. Please check if the issue still exists for you. Make sure you have rev432 or later installed (updated from workshop).

It's taking a while to load, but it hasn't given me an error yet.

Always read the ingame help or what the error says.

If it is still the error -1, then it is probably something on your end. Maybe something like an addon conflict, missing encoders on the OS or something else. I can not reproduce the issue on my end. Maybe you should ask a friend if they can play the file. If so it rules out any addon level issues.

There isn't even any error, it's just perpetually loading the sound
