Respawning the radio or being the entity owner of that radio can help with this issue. Im preparing a fix for that. However it will take a long time, because I don't have much time for addon development at the moment.
Respawning it doesn't fix it, ill have to wait for a fix
Apparently the entity is reinitialized on the client site, when you leave the drive mode. So it happens that the networked functions (such as self:GetVolume()) breaks.
The entity could also be client-reinitialized by other unknown causes. Im not sure if it is a game bug or if it is a problem of the custom built networking wrapper the addon uses.
If is still not fixed for you with the latest version of the addon, please report it again. Locked.
