Whenever I use a link that has worked before I get error 40
"Error 40: Connection timedout
URL: (dropbox with the setting dl=1 enabled)

The connection seems being slow. Just try again in a few minutes.
If it does not work, the server you are trying to stream from is down."



It has been like this since the June 27th update

This is unlikely caused by the update, as media and format support can't be handled nor influenced by Lua, as comes straight from BASS itself.

Anything else is explained in error help (your copy-paste)...

This is literally all that's in the error message (apart from the youtube stuff), I've noticed that other people are having this issue as well

Well if the server is being slow other people will do have the same problem of course. I tested your URL you gave on the main comment section and it worked just fine for me. Dropbox in particular is known for not being a greatest streaming service.

Strange, didn't work on a local singleplayer server it still came up with the ssme error, does this addon rely on the speed of the servet I'm playing on and/or rely on my broadband speed?

It relies on the internet speed and the server speed from the server you are streaming from (Dropbox in this case). The slowest of both will be the bottleneck. The server your are playing on doesn't do much to this topic, it will just tell the other players the URL and timestamp to play from. Each player will create their own connection to the stream resource (Dropbox) via the internet.
