If the workshop does not work for you for some reason, you can download the mod manually:

1. If you install it manually, unsubscribe here on the workshop to avoid any conflicts!
2. If the mod folder has any traces of the steam workshop version, delete them.
3.Extract the .zip file in My Documents\Paradox interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod
4. Enable the mod in the launcher.
5. You can favorite the mod to keep track of updates! :)
