I've been playing Gmod since 2013 and trust me, the only bad memories I've got from this game are sandbox maps where I was having fun, after nearly having an heart attack after being surprised by a jumpscare.

Just think about the fact that because of jumpscares, everytime I open a page or a new tab on google, I mute the sound of the page and I open it in another window so that if it's a jumpscare I will detect it.

I've been doing this for years because of 1 jumpscare hidden behind a link on a random forum near 2013-2014, just 1 jumpscare. And I'm not the kind of person who is easily scared, horror movies/games doesn't seems scary to me but cool to watch/play.

So no, we aren't "that damn scared", we just want to have fun without thinking about the fact that we could be scared in any time.

Well, this is a map from Call of Duty: World at War - a game that does not contain "jumpscares" as it is not a horror title.

Your sentiment on this is perfectly understandable. I, too, try as much as I can to avoid these things, since, just as you, I have awful memories associated with "screamers".

Which jumpscare was it though? The one that shows you the face of certain character from the film called The Exorcist? Because, those ugly memories I mentioned, are from 2013-2014 as well--perhaps even before--and I think that particular jumpscare was popular around that time.

Actually the link was a jumpscare of jeff the killer flashing really fast with the sound so high that I had tinnitus for a minute. It was impossible to close anything as it was creating popups of the same screamer again and again.

I of course felt on other screamers since this day, but never worse than this nightmare
