Launch/retrieve from vehicles
Hello,
I wanted to brainstorm an idea that I mentioned in the comments a few days ago.
It would be very nice to be able to launch (and retrieve, now that with the latest update it is possible even when it's hovering) the Black Hornet from open top vehicles, such as cars and boats. Code-wise I would assume it's a very quick and easy change, since it's basically a flag in the menu render method. But this would lead to a couple of problems/inconsistencies:

1. As Steve mentioned, this means that the drone could be launched at such a speed that it'll either collide with the launching vehicle, or flip over and fall. But IMO, this is not a real problem since it would also happen in real life (no one would launch a drone from a flying Cessna and expect to be able to control it...);
2. AFAIK, there is no easy way to tell whether the current vehicle is an open-top or not. It would be weird to say the least to see a drone spawn from a fully armored tank... Maybe this could be enabled/disabled server-wide or mission-wide with a flag in the options.

I still believe this is a feature that would add a lot of immersion and flexibility to the Black Hornet. What do you guys think?

Would it be weird, though? Tanks do have hatches/crew/passenger(as in the APC/tank hybrids) doors. Also, the very successful real-tie strategy game Command & Conquer Generals, back even in 2003 had its' United States of America side & factions several kinds of their ground vehicles (including at least two types of tanks & several other reinforced-chassis manned ground vehicles) to 'retrofit' field-purchase out in the wild a vehicle-linked aerial drone [several types, in fact - one of which was a (assuming high-ish-altitude giving) low-observablitiy Recon drone, which would extend the sight-line of the ground vehicle & reveal some hidden hostile threats & assets, does that sound at all like a similar role that this would do?).

I was thinking more along the lines of – boat insertion from a SEAL-like team, they would like to have an eye up there before landing, and the Black Hornet fits the role perfectly.
Come to think of it, that would be the only practical use case where one cannot simply hop off the vehicle and launch it from the ground. Still, I believe that's a very interesting case that could be implemented.
