The specifics don't actually get much more detailed than that. None of the parts that I've manged to find so far in my game are able to be put into stockpiles. This has been the case so far for the Artist Hand and (on multiple separate occasions) the Fabricator Hand. They can't be stockpiled because stockpile zones don't believe that they exist.

Currently have 2x Fabricator Hands just sitting around outside because they were a quest reward and I have no way to move them (except by grafting them onto someone).

I no longer work on this mod but the problem was fixed iirc
Im afraid I cannot do much

Its fixed, but you'll have to manualy download it from github (its supported for 1.3v as well!).
