well the name rosie would be short for rosie the riveter and they used involved making boats and other things during the seconds world war. So it isn't just a name for aw "little girl" its based on the rosie riveteres.

It's a rivet gun, not a flamethrower. Likely a refrences to Rosie the Riveter, or the Bioshock big daddy "Rosie" (Which was probably based off of rosie the riviter).

Heh, I did first think of Bioshock when I first saw this, then I searched for Rosie the Riveter, which would also explain why you'd call a big freaking mutant like the Big Daddy "Rosie". Because it's manly.

The burning bandana was based off of rosie the riveter, so this really isn't all that different.
