use slo-mo that helps quite a lot. And also try not to place loads of people as that will just make it more laggier, placing like 1 or 2 humans is acceptable. Also another way, is to remove like half of the map that'll help too.

basically just pause and drag your mouse to the area you wanna delete then left click on one of the things you want to delete and click delete

I advise pausing then spawning in the city and deleting some building or people it's pretty big so you won't notice a few buildings disappearing also try uninstalling mods you don't use or contraptions you don't use other than that I don' know
