RELOADING GAME CRASH FIX [Revised]
there are two solutions ive found to solve the issue with the reloading animations.
1. Boot the mod via the kenshi mods folder.
To do this copy the mod from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\233860\2360832398 to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Kenshi\mods. Rename the copied folder named "2360832398" to "The Shoddy Firearms Mod" and it should hopefully now work correctly.

2. Use the crossbow revision patch ive uploaded that will revert the animation back to the original crossbow animation. This addon is intended for users who are unable to use the reload animation mod without the game hard crashing. Ive opted to not roll this into the base mod since 95% ish of all feedback i received was people who were happy with the animations and i dont want to remove it from those who have it working correctly.

what am i missing kenshi dose not see this mod during loading. I renamed it exactly The Shoddy Firearms Mod. what stupid mistake am i making?

Shouldn't we also delete the mod from the steam workshop folder?

@Oke518, there must be a misplaced folder or something. it should be kenshi/mods/The Shoddy Firearms mod/ and the contents should include the file The Shoddy Firearms Mod.mod. When you can launch the FCS and have the mod show up on the list it is loading correctly.

@Rake, you actually dont have to unsub. any mods in the kenshi folder will override the steam lists. so as long as it was correctly transferred you dont need to worry. I recommend using the FCS to test if the mod loads correctly. if you can see my mod in FCS it is loading correctly.

Hmmm then im afraid RNGesus has decreed you be the one in a hundred exception. I have no idea why your pc refuses to pickup the mod. It is supposed to pick it up. My sincere apology but it seems your kenshi is bugging out and not detecting the mods folder for some reason.

Fixed it was read only for some reason though the game still crashes when I fire my improved flintlock.

@Oke518, please use the new addon ive provided. It will remove ONLY the custom reload animation everything else should be the same. I have no idea why but on certain computers the reload animation just refuses to work.

my sincere apology for all the effort you went through for my silly little mod. ill continue trying to get the damn reload working on 100% of users but till then i hope you can make do with the crossbow animation till then.
