I tried that version it still doesn't work, I think the mod is just incompatible with certain modded NPCs.

That's because when you spawn an NPC it has to create a the gib model for the NPC which can get laggy if you have a lower end PC, I would recommend a mod like Lite Gibs for lower end PCs.

I usually do have that enabled, I actually don't know if I had that enabled when I was trying this mod out, I'll have a look next time I get on Gmod to see if that was the issue.

whenever the gibs pop out of the ragdoll, its just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ invisible cubes with green outlines on it
