Don't know if this is why they were disabled, but a way I found to re-enable cosmetics is to go to Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\383980\2300438860\scripts and open init.gml, and replace cosmetic = 0 with cosmetic = 1
I don't think this will work online

you can open it with any text editor

i got the problem too, but i just restarted the game and it works now.
