yeah same, i noticed while trying to test another mod, while using the l4d1 characters on a test map, the tank i spawned was still the l4d1 tank even though i had already enabled the addon and this happened while force spawning all the other special infected from l4d1 in l4d2 while using the l4d1 cast of characters, like for the smoker i would only get the l4d1 smoker while using the l4d1 characters and not get the l4d2 smoker

I think it's just me because I use "Improved Bots (Advanced)" and I think they spawn sometimes like that because I'm loading a map in SP versus and sometimes the add-on I think forgets to enable. Didn't see those in my campaign playthrough.

No, it's because addons disabled in Versus mode by default. To enable addons in your local server in Versus and Scavenge modes, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\cfg\addonconfig.cfg
Then change values from 1 to 0 and you can play with this mod on your local versus server

your playing on versus, did u know valve remove addon since 2018?
