Ruined by Artillery
I loved the games starting out with a few friends, but when we get close to building any thing we just get wrecked by artillery. Is there any way to nerf it.

You hav to Kill the Artillery once its dead your good. Its ussually a symbol with the Up arror sort of like "^" Kill that they get a pretty good range.

In the new version there is some less artillery, will also add option soon to disable whole AI artillery feature. But yes, if you take out map marked artillery and mortar, the AI no longer call strikes. Also 6km away (or was it 4km) from nearest arty you are also safe.
