idk, but ive seen hla prop ports to hl2, but i think that its because they're small.

Yeah usually when people port stuff like this to HL2 they compress the textures from, for example 2k or 4k to 512x512 or even lower, which allows them to be smaller size and the game not to crash.

Just mount Half Life 2 to Gmod. You can play even the Episodes on Gmod.
This mod isn't a replacer, though there are mods that do replace Combine with HLA Combine.
