There should be a UI display where there is a button. If you get an event, the button will have an red circle displaying a notification. It should be visible enough that it grabs the attention of the player and makes them wonder. When you press the button, an event pops up if there is one. You can right click the button to release all notifications. If you don’t respond to it in 12 days Ingame, it will automatically pop up.

Instead of notifications spawning in random places hurting my eyes and forcing them to look at uncomfortable places, a button will do.
