Anything that just straight up kills the player instead of just damaging them will bypass spawn protection, as it should. That is the only case that I can presume happened there. Either that or an addon you have is disabling the godmode on the player itself.

I noticed that its a map thing because normal enemies like combine were able to kill me while mid spawn protection in some custom maps (thx for responding 4 months later)
