Error
So... i love the mod, it's probably one of the best things on the workshop but for some reason while i was playing the HL1 resized maps it stopped working after i loaded the next level.


And this is here because Steam won't let me comment on anything.

Alright, thank you for this bug report. I will try to reproduce the same result and see what the issue might be. If you have any other details you can give me like console errors, specific info you may have left out, etc. It will help a lot. Thanks for your kind words about the mod aswell.

Hm, upon the next map change, it stopped working. I tried using it again to see if i'd get any errors but i got nothing in the console.

Okay, will try for myself tomorrow. Little busy today. I think it might have something to do with some variable not getting updated/ cleaned properly, but I'm not sure. If you can do me one more favor though, disable all addons but the shield and VManip and try to replicate the bug and see if it still occurs. Just to be sure its not a case of conflicting addons.

So i've tested it without any mods other than Vmanip and the aforementioned HL1 maps, it worked fine but like before, upon map transition it stopped working. It only works when i actually restart the map from the console.

Yeah it seems to stop working specifically after map transitions for some reason. I have the same issue playing the HL2 campaign, works until you transition between maps via the in map transition points. Manually loading maps is fine.

Speaking of errors me and my girlfriend encountered a bug in multiplayer or rather... I found a bug.
I joined my girlfriend's server and we both have this addon but whenever I try to deploy the shield an error will pop up and won't spawn a shield but it still plays a sound that I "deployed" one. My girlfriend however can still deploy a shield no problem.

Shoot. Alright, can you please make this into a unique post? That way I do not forget about this bug. I will be going through and patching stuff later today. Just currently taking care of some other stuff. Thanks for reporting this bug.

Still looking into this error, just fixed another more pressing error of it not working in multi player.

Good news everyone! I've out what the problem is, patching incoming.

For those who are curious the issue was that the cooldown variable doesn't get cleared when the map is reset, but the current time does. So when a new map is loaded, it checks if the current time is greater than the cooldown time, which it isn't because the cooldown time is already super large because it was incremented in the last level. Anyways, alls I have to do is clear the variable once the map changes.
