I liked the glaive, as it put me in mind of those blaster staff things the baddie guards used in Stargate, melee weapons, but also ranged weapons. It is an area that Rimworld has few options for, without mods, and as I don't like 'simple side-arms' to carry the best of both types of weapons, having a weapon that is decent at both, but not the best at both, is nice (plus it cuts down on incompatibilities between mods :) )

Also the glaive looked great.

It looked super sweet, I think that's reason enough.
Some ideas:
What if it had a weak internal shield generator, that would be cool (so you could free up the belt slot).

Or maybe have it electrified, so it gives EMP damage like the Zeushammer.

Perhaps, if possible, give it an attack that pushes targets back, and if successful charges a quick shot?

Glaives and spears are cool, do you need anything else?
