The mod doesn't work, what should you do?
First of all I just want to mention that in the mod menu you may notice that the mod's name is "e, Retribution - 109 items". Don't worry about this, its intentional and was done for load order reasons.

It is also important that you make sure you have Mod Compatibility Hack as some of the features of the mod will not work without it:

"The mod isn't working at all for me"
First of all please make sure the mod is actually enabled, it's really easy to accidentally disable one or all of your mods without realising, but if this isn't the issue then:

When loading the game after getting new mods the screen may go and stay white for a while, when this happens many people assume the game has crashed and shut it down, but this is not the case. This white screen is what shows when the game is copying the mod files from steam's workshop folder to its own mod folder, and if you shut the game during this time the mod will fail to correctly copy. Of course this can also happen if the game does genuinely crash whilst this is happening, but if the game stops responding while this is happening, it can usually resolve itself and launch the game anyway.

This is likely the reason you're here, so here are 2 things you can try in order to fix it:

This is faster but less comprehensive, if this doesn't solve the problem then try the second option:
  • Navigate to your mods folder found at Documents/My Games/Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+ Mods
  • Delete the folder named ciirulean items_2153745735
  • Relaunch the game, and leave it alone until it gets to the title screen
If it was an issue in copying over the files from steam's own workshop folder then that will give it another attempt.

This method is more comprehensive and more likely to solve the problem
  • Unsubscribe from the mod
  • Navigate to your mods folder found at Documents/My Games/Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+ Mods
  • Delete the folder named ciirulean items_2153745735
  • Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\250900
  • Delete the folder named 2153745735
  • Quickly launch and shut down the game once it has loaded
  • Subscribe to the mod again and launch the game to redownload the mod files

If neither of these methods worked to fix it dm me on discord (Xalum#4103) and I will find a way to send you the mod files directly, however this version of the mod won't benefit from the updates to the mod that steam will automatically download if you're subscribed to the workshop.

its been applied but those new items(passive, active and trinket) don't give actual effects.
For example i get the Lily, then i use it, nothing happens. how to fix this problem?

actually I did the first and second solutions several times but did not work for me. Lol

In which case it sounds like one of the other mods you have enabled has severe incompatibilities with this one

I found the mod that has incompatibility with the Retribution.
The Cheating of Isaac by feel-my-pain

maybe you should know about it for reference :D
now the mod works. thank you for your help.

That's not deleting the mod, and even if the game crashes the mod will still be disabled so if that's all you want to do then there's no problem. You should restart the game after enabling/disabling a mod anyway

If you want to delete the mod entirely then unsubscribe on steam and follow the first "fix the mod" guide in this discussion
