Hmm no idea why it would do that. Are you using an old version of windows? (Eg. Win7) If so you probably need to install the Chinese Locale.

@Lash, Nah I've got windows 10 and the latest update. I also have the latest update of my graphics drivers and such. I'll try reinstalling again and see if it's doing it even without the mod. If so I can probably find a solution by looking it up.

Make sure you dont have any old mods lying around in your \Mod folder

Could someone please provide a step by step guide on how to enable the English language pack. There are only bits and bobs here and there nothing concrete

For everyone having the same issue, the problem is if you have an old type cpu like mine aka - AMD Athlon II X4 640 or close to it the game has an issue with your pc's memory I guess. The way to fix it is to rename a file past the Ho Tu Lo Shu folder in J2_Data/Plugins called lib_burst_generated.dll to something else like I did, I renamed it to lib_b_gen.dll just for conveniences sake and it worked. Now I can play the game and actually get past the loading screen.
