No World Model / Third-person Model ? (screenshots)
I'm rather sure this isn't just a missing feature as I've seen some videos with the guns visible in third-person.

Edit - Upon further testing it seems to be completely invisible when dropped on the ground and only appears missing for my client, friends that join can see it.
