How to use modern rifles on custom troops?
I already have advanced rifle technology but I can't use them on my troops (the weapons doesn't appear to choise, what could this be?)

You have to choose faction specific weapon for it to work I believe. First Flintlock Musket that you can see on page 649 in my case never worked. but when you go to further pages (1705-1800) you will have a lot of guns to choose from, which are faction specific. When you equip this gun it says Smoothbore Musket but it will upgrade to whatever technology level you are on. You can test it by killing one of your troops in fight and comparing numbers in name.
