well you need reknown and opinion, so u need to farm those and then you can ask to be? i think

What's the difference between being a Field Marshal and a Lord? There's literally no incentive for me to ask to be a lord because I get 5k per week and can summon lords to a campaign. I'd rather keep collecting my pay-stub from the army in case my factories dont profit for some reason.

I've found I still get paid as a lord, didn't give me a banner though :( I assume pay is based on your rank. It definitely says I'm a lord on the faction page.
