First off. sorry for making this a discussion steam is currently broke and wont let me comment

How do you make geometry not look flat and boring?
All my walls are usually plain walls with some tables and no detail
I want to make nice detailed rooms for a map thats a campaign map. So far i only made maps that are scenic with no gameplay really

Hey Zorich, I am not sure what you mean. If you mean the textures on the walls then all you have to do is drag a HLA material from the asset browser onto you wall. If you want to texture your wall then type "wall" into the Name filter then drag one of the materials onto your wall.
If thats not what you were asking please let me know.

What i mean is how do i make the walls pop out more. Like with all the support beams. Wall decorations. And stuff? i cant seem to find the correct props and or textures to do it

Oh ok, if you take a look at how Valve made their maps you will see how they did it. They usually have assets that they stick in the wall and they vary the depth at which they place them into the walls. In hammer go to Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life Alyx\game\hlvr\maps and open on of Valve HLA maps and it will all make sense.
