The Spell "Flames" states: "These flames to one combat die of damage at anyone in your line of sight. The victim must roll one red die on result 5 or 6 reduces the damage by one"
Step 1) I need to check if I need to make a mind check.
Step 2) I need to roll one combat dice. If it's a skull it might hit, if not, the spell fizzles.
Step 3) The result from the combat dice from step 2 is taken to attack one or more targets, may it be enemies or friends. Is this correct?
Step 4) The attacked victims (might it be friends or foes, so to say everything in line of sight) might escape that damage (as the spell just makes 1 body point damage if a skull is rolled) when rolling a red die and getting an result of 5-6.
Is this the correct usage of "rolling combat dice" while using a spell? And is this correct for the "Flames" spell?
@Maronach When you pass the mind test you are able to carry on using spell like normal of what the card states.
The four first spells cast in a dungeon are free to cast without of mind test, then after you have to roll for mind test.
@Senja, example for flames if the mind test is required and passed you then may roll combat dice on a skull it hits that deals 1 body point damage.
the one hit with spell rolls 1 standard dice the D6 on result of a 5 or 6 if rolled the damaged is reduce by 1 meaning they take no damage if they successfully rolled them numbers.
hope this helps clear this up for you.
another questions be sure to ask.
