my colonists wont eat from it, and i know everything was correct, and as soon as i made a normal dispenser it worked immediately

I had 2 problems. I tried to build it over smooth marble and Replace Tool (I assume) caused the colonist to unnecessarily dig the marble before building it. Also, colonists don't get meals from it; they just ignore it and eat from the hoppers.
Good luck figuring out which of my 172 mods is the problem though! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
(I don't know whether there's a better way of getting a mod list as text than ModsConfig.xml, so that's what I did)

I had a problem with pawns not eating any other food for some reason. I do have a number of other mods but not many relating to food.

Thats probably not a Problem with my Mod since it's essentially only a Retexture of the Vanilla Dispenser. I'm Sorry :(
