When I start the visualizer up, sometimes it only shows the central part and has a transparent backgrund for a short while. Therefore I am able to see my own backgrund from my desktop.

There is no option for custom images/backgrounds as you have explained. But are you able to add a "transparency" option? So that the ordinary desktop wallpaper is visible and your "scene" serves as an overlay? Like an option for "transparent" or "no background".
