America 1900 start
The election system is bugged, it doesn't allow the republicans to campaign in some of the states, resulting in the opposition party to endlessly build up support that you can never overcome.

Or is it by design that the democrats are defaulted to win? I have seen that before in a few mods.

Edit: I am guessing its by design the democrats win, because I noticed outlawing the KKK focus increases support for the democrat party, which makes no historical sense at all.

one tip i can give you is that i would use the "stoke sentiments" when it comes up for the 100 pt buff and i had two or 3 15% people to raise it also. After a while i had so much support i had to just spend it on silly things. I didnt not however go down the whole KKK road but somehow i did manage to get a semi White Power government without seeming to go down a path to that.

i feel ya , i just tried a 1918 Russia game and somehow Ukraine on the start of the war had a few modern divisions with tanks and mechanized infantry scouts hospitals and such it was very trollish

I found an even worse design choice.

I went with germany from a 1900 start. basically annexed, belgium, netherlands, austriahungary all through peaceful focuses.

ww1 started and i got russia to surrender when their revolution kicked off had a stalemate everywhere else. Lost no territory to the allies, and they had lost allies and land, yet the only option i was given for a ceasefire peace deal was to give up all my puppets 3/4's of my land, a civil war and say that i lost the war.

The game seems to be only designed for germany losing. Even if you don't take the peacedeal and keep fighting. You are forced to become a democratic republic for no reason. and all your puppets actively fighting the war with you are released and forced to peace out.

I guess no matter what germany has to lose the first ww.

It's a great mod, but I really hate it when the developers let their biases spill out into gameplay.

well to be fair look at a few real life examples
VIetnam..
The US stays there almost 20 years leaves 5 years early kills 2.2 million VC/NVA while losing only 60,000 and due to internal political pressure leaves did i mention we left FIVE YEARS prior to the end of the war? yet some people say "we lost"
IRAQ and Afghanistan Spend 20 yrs conducting a insurgency war where nobody else has even lasted 5 . Brings democracy to both places who never had it before teaches women to read for the first time in both places and leaves due to the mission being accomplished and internal political pressure to end an endless war. Kills roughly a million losing roughly 5000 in both combined and again "we lost" because we left both peacefully having done our intended purpose. Sure we gave them democracy but they decided to vote the same type of people in go figure.
In both cases definately not a military loss in any case ( not like we were going to make them another US state ya know?) but still "we lost" because we left.
Sometimes the cockroaches can crawl out from under the rubble and declare victory because the homeowner decided it was time to sell the place and go to another house.

My problem is that there is no actual ceasefire, its a you lose no matter what design choice. In regards to vietnam and the other wars, america wasn't forced to change its type of government, and give up half its territory to a newly created nation, just because the war became a stalemate.

A better design would be to make it an actual ceasefire, where any territory lost or taken between those still at war goes back to the original owners. Not all territory taken from people no longer participating in the war is returned, and half the territory you started with is taken from you and only you.

I know some mods for HoI4 that involve ww1 have actual options for germany winning, or even a true stalemate. Instead of just a default germany must lose.
