Many VE weapons incompatible with shields?
Okay so maybe the issue is just my load order, and I don't know if this is the proper place for the complaining (due to shields being added in multiple VE mods), but I'll just put my issues here.

The following weapons, despite being 'one handed' (And for all except two, not an SMG, since that seems to be a qualifier that prevents shield. Though I do think all SMGs should be usable with shields.), are unable to be used with a shield:
Automatic pistol
Derringer
Double action revolver
Frontier pistol
Gauss magnum
Hand cannon
Heavy revolver
Laser pistol
Laser SMG (Lasers don't have recoil, and this is only .6 kg heavier than the laser pistol.)
Laser sword (While yes, longswords cannot be used with shields, a Laser sword's blade is quite literally, weightless, so it would be incredible easy to use one handed.)
Lever action rifle (Description literally states one handed use.)
Lever action shotgun (Description literally states one handed use.)
Light SMG (literally a Mac-10 so I think one handed use is easily justifiable)
Makeshift pistol
Plasmacutter
Repeating shotgun (Description literally states one handed use.)
Salvaged laser pistol
Salvaged laser revolver
Sawed off shotgun
Volcanic pistol
Light club
Shiv
Throwing shards
Tomahawk
Tribal Axe

Devs will be able to tell if it's a mod conflict or not if you download the hugslib mod, and use it provide and error report (just copy-pasting it here won't work).

For me, I can't get shields to work with just the standard "longsword" that is from the vanilla game (i'm 99% sure on that...).

Won't work with a gladius for me.

It is working for me with the exception of pawns that have a prosthetic on their left side. Make sure you have your flavor of weapons selected in the Shields expanded menu. Not sure if it was me loading hugslib before VE framework or one of the other things I tinkered with.
