The descriptions for Holographic dinos says that they "they grant their rider the ability to detect threats, identify their companions, and find precious high-level dinos for taming!" However there is no mention of how to use their ability. The Parasaur I tamed appears to be normal in every way (but the skin), with no new keybinds. I looked through all the comments and discussions and couldn't find an answer.

Is the description just flavor text and holographic doesn't actually do anything? Or am I missing something obvious?
