I am going to assume it's the same as a deino last night we seen are first shiny deino and followed him for a while till he laid a egg. Sorry if this does work but I am making assumptions based off what we seen last night with the deino.

I'm not sure how you get one at all. It's easy with Rock drakes because as long as they're near the nests, they'll lay eggs but I believe with wyverns, the egg is spawned in with the wyvern. I cleared the wyvern nests a dozen times leaving only the shiny up and the only eggs that spawned were the level of the respawns.

Shiny wyvern eggs do happen-- I am not sure of how precisely it works, but wyverns have a longish cooldown on egg laying whereas rock drakes will pretty much lay an egg as soon as a slot becomes available. To increase your chances, you might look into Myrmecoleon's Quality of Life Items. She has darts that will force their target to lay an egg at the next available nest site, provided you can get the wyvern near enough to a nest... apart from that it'll be clearing nests and waiting, or being very lucky. Possibly both.

I want you to know that I have tested this on two different shiny wyvern eggs and I can't tell what exactly happened but it seems they just poof. they crack open and nothing comes out. really sad. I did manage to get the egg in the wild as you would expect to.

When you get a shiny egg of any sort does the egg keep the possible special shiny features such as a skeletal wyvern for example? Even after shooting the wyvern with the QoL dart that pairs with your mod the baby that hatched from the skeletal wyvern egg was just a normal lightning wyvern. Is this a bug or just how shiny's that lay eggs are or??

Baby Wyverns will inherit the parent's colours and levels, but they can't inherit extra special buffs, unfortunately. To get those onto the baby, you'll have to use the Shiny prod on the parent to steal its essence. This is by no means an easy feat with a wyvern, I know... but it is possible.

@UnNerfable That's odd-- I don't know why your eggs should have done that. Did they spoil as soon as you picked them up or did you hatch them normally and not get a baby? If the latter I suspect some other interaction... the babies will have hatched as vanilla wyverns, so there shouldn't be any reason for them to just vanish.

Not exactly what the OP was asking, but I did happen to run into an Enraged Fire Wyvern the other night, and managed to kill her. I then scoured the nests nearby and found a Wyvern egg well above our server max for Wyvern levels. So at the very least, we got a nice level and stat boost into our breeding program for our Wyverns.

Update: My friends always laugh about my luck. Found a 460 Sherwood Fire Wyvern egg after killing it's parent. So yes, it certainly possible to get Shiny Wyvern eggs. Uploading screenshot of the egg stats to the Ark community page on Steam, and awaiting approval. Will post link once that is cleared.

At the risk of necroing a thread, if you use the Immersive Taming Mod, you can challenge Adult Shiny Wyverns to a fight, and tame them in you win. It also works with Rock Drakes and Magmasaurs.
