I've played as Synthetic Shells. For some reason governors, scientists, generals and admirals are not immortal like in other machine empires. They die at age 80+.
Also, when making contact with new empire, there is no response button.

Okay. For me, the response button appears. Are you playing in English? And for the immortality, I've got to try it. Just to be sure, are you using any portrait mod for the Synthetic Shells empire? Thanks for your report! :)

Yes, I'm playing in English. I chose arthropoid machine portrait. (Not modded)
