LAG Complaint Department
It seems a lot of people are having issues with lag, myself included. Many "fixes" have been suggested, those being (from what I've seen): deleting unused addons, lowering graphics quality, and "get better pc." I myself have what I'd think is a decent setup, although I don't entirely know the specs. All solutions I've seen presented seem to work, but to varying effectiveness per person.
So I'm making this thread so we can all pour our complaints and solutions into one spot without having to search through the comments, feel free to report your own issues with lag and suggest possible solutions.

Map runs perfectly fine on all computers, regardless of specs. If you're having performance issues, it's because you have a ridiculous amount of addons installed.

There is also a lot of props on the map, (the kind you can't delete with VJ base prop remover) which creates lag. I removed most of them and got 30 fps with 480 addons

no they don't create lag. you said it yourself, 480 addons.

ive got a 1660 and played it with no addons and it still lagged. i suggest toning down the street reflections

If you have a absolute potato, or it lags ya game, i'd personnally suggest just turning down ya graphics, Trust me, it'll help, if it doesn't, it'll atleast help run the map a slight bit better.

Dosent do anything. The street reflection is not part of the engine it’s a map asset. You can’t turn it off

I am subscribed to 1 mod, and it's this map. Can you tell me what you have your Garry's mod graphic's settings on (including advanced). It might be something to do with that.

If i have to say, this map mostlikly runs horribly on things like your grandma's laptop from 1975. however, my old laptop was able to run this map, and it isn't even one of those gaming laptops, it was a broken laptop, although, i'd say it may be because i kept it on low graphics and ♥♥♥♥.

this ♥♥♥♥ sucks bc like my old ♥♥♥♥♥♥ pc could run this map no problem, with like +2000 addons. but once i upgraded and cleared my addons and now only have like ~300, it runs like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. its funny because alot of my games that used to run with such a bad framerate (e.g gtaiv, jc2) now run amazing yet southside's framerate dropped tremendously. how do i "lower the street resolution"? while on this topic,anyone else getting random NPCs in the map? nov 2020 didnt have these dudes and i played a few maps before loading southside today, and i had no NPCs on there.

yeah the fact that i can run sea of thieves at max graphics on 1080p, with a 1660 is amazing. that takes hours of coding. it should be easy for a gmod map

Did you check your graphics,shadows, etc? Cause that may be your probelm.

I need to make a scene in the map but I need a ridiculously amount of mods to use the map all of them are models I activated 1000 mod in one map didn't lag well ill risk it
