no. those slots are occluded precisely for the reason that those items greyed out WILL NOT WORK on a skeleton. The reason is those items 'PAINT' the clothes onto the mesh. In the case of a skeleton or terminator this looks rediculous as textures need a UV map other than native mesh vanilla. These features simply stop bug happening and there is NOTHING to be do about it.
