Reducing the frequency of Epithets
Hello, I don't own the game on Steam so I have to start a discussion instead of leaving a comment. Here's my question: is there a way to reduce the frequency/chance that a leader will get an epithet?

I use both this mod and Nomina and I love them both (great work by the way), however often the leaders' names become a bit of a mouthful. Now that's a thing that has happened in history, however not with everyone. It would be nice if only the people that were truly remarkable (either really good or really bad at something) in a certain era got an epithet.

I've scanned through the mod's scripts quickly, but the only thing that I found that might be able to do what I want is a variable called iNumberToHit in the function SC_Epithet_Class_Selector, but it appears to be assigned a random value, and I don't want to mess with a script I don't fully understand.

So I would really appreciate it if you could tell me of a way to raise the threshold required to get an Epithet. Thanks a lot!

I was just thinking the same thing! I think this is a great mod, but it could be even greater if the epithets were rarer. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to reduce the frequency of them either.

I agree with this. I think it's programmed to return an epithet every single time? At least, I've never seen a player *not* have an epithet so far, and there doesn't seem to be any code for that either (based on my very limited understanding of it). Decreasing the frequency of them would make them a lot more interesting and unique!

From my experience, it looks like you don't get an epithet in the later eras, which makes sense

Really late to this convo, but yes it's designed to give everyone an epithet unless you have one of the pre-defined late-game govs. I can see about getting something implemented where there can be a user-defined amount of randomness I suppose!

Yeah, excellent mod! I haven't used the mod yet but a randomness modifier perhaps 1 - 3, 1 being the amount of epithets as now, and 3 being having to lose all your cities or be an amazing leader.
