The 4.0 version of Dniepr contains fixes for bugs and crashes. That version should be played instead!

I want to love this campaign, but it has major QA issues. 3/5 stars, and that's being a bit generous.

There are a lot of great ideas here that create a unique experience you won't find in vanilla L4D2. The campaign has a HUGE emphasis on open environments and exploration-based progression. Health and ammo are hard to come by, but the difficulty is still reasonable. It's a very original flavor!

However, technical issues bring this campaign down. I couldn't complete it because the finale map crashed L4D2 both times I played it, and two survivor bots teleported to the sky near an elevator crescendo and fell to their deaths. There are many other minor problems as well, like a lack of weapon variety.

Overall, Dniepr is worth a try... at your own risk.

It took a couple days of trial-and-error but I believe I fixed it by extracting the vpks into a legacy-style folder and replacing maps 3 and 4 with the older versions from DNIEPR 1.1 on moddb.
