@DEMONKITTY THE FIRE SERPENT Assuming you're still looking for a fix to this issue, check if you have creative2 installed. There's a setting you can turn off that prevents this issue from happening. If players in the void is not allowed, then you will drown outside of the map. Hope this helps!
