claims that your mod is responsible for not having smoke effects anymore at building chimneys.

I can second that as I also got no more smoke at buildings. As the script does not touch buildings' particles I assume it's the shaders.

I just compared your latest upload to the previous one and the only differences inside mod.lua are "minorVersion" and "description", but no change at the code.

Ah, just seen the main comments, so you had a fix that made the game crash and then you reverted it.
