READ THIS IF COMBINE NPCS ARE HOSTILE
If the Combine soldier NPCs are hostile towards any players, you have a conflicting addon.

To diagnose this problem;
1. Go to the start/pause menu and click on Addons.
2: Click "Disable all".
3. Click the checkmark box on the Gate Defense addon, then click "Enable Selected".
4. Reload the map and try playing again. If the NPCs are friendly, this means one of your addons is affecting NPC behavior. Even if it's not a mod that directly changes AI behavior, conflicts can still happen!

From here on, you will have to test which addons are affecting the NPCs. Try enabling one or a few at a time, and keep going from there until you find the issue. This map works perfectly fine without conflicts. If all fails, try verifying the game files through Steam.

Note that having a million addons installed can affect game performance and potentially AI behavior!

heya buddy i have a custon spawnmenu and cant do that, cause ill lose the spawnmenu
how about ya just list conflicting mods

Your config won't erase itself, it'll be stored separately in game files. Disabling the addon does not delete it, it only prevents it from loading in-game (until re-enabled).

Also, I have Parakeet's Pill Pack and that works just fine. How could I list conflicting addons if nothing conflicts for me?

Dunno but unsubscribing fixed it for me

Honestly, I just use the combine suits addon. It automatically makes resistance hostile and combines friendly with or without this map, and is really cool in general. It will fix the problem automatically because I had Parakeet's Pill Pack enabled, but Combine Suits overrode both when it comes to NPC relationships, if you're wearing one.
All three are amazing addons in my opinion, and I'm glad I can use them.

get inpc it overrides everything and you can set your faction (example Combine, Resistance, Zombies etc.)
