I got a 32gb of Ram, GTX 2080Super (5% usage @2k resolution) and only about 30% of CPU usage at best. Also I got the CoH2 64bit BETA ofc, so I rly don't know what's going on with that lagging here.
I even tried to rip away all of the sandbag-, tank blockers and fences, but the lag keeps on happening afterwards.
Rly sad thing, as I really like this mod much more than the one I played before, but it is sadly unplayable unless you don't play roadblocks, which is essential to me, as to somehow you need to narrow down or create a bottleneck because for bigger maps you simply don't have the manpower to place a platoon of troops every 20 metres to block any road/free space the enemy could slip through.
The effort taken to put together this mod is gorgeous, I really love the setup and approach, sadly though the vanilla game engine is forced on its knees performance technical by it. The game eventually froze after trying to end it by storming the enemy base, so, I dunno ~
There are so many moving parts to the game. One thing I have found is badly made maps, that use lots of different graphics sets, like buildings from Normandy & the East set as well puts labour on it.
The mod itself does slow down for me, but not until after an hour, 1vs4 enemy. & that is just a mild slugglishness, not like it used to on the 32bit version.
I think for my mod it is a combination of things, lots of 6 member squads being a big one. When they put collision boxes around individual infantry it murdered my mods. Another thing that impacts is my line-of-site changes. The AI ♥♥♥♥♥ itself trying to avoid my long range cannons. I have pondered remaking them, but I am genuinely unsure how much i would have to cut out to get them to work nicely, & then seriously worry they will change something else to ♥♥♥♥ with it.
For most of us they work fine, I have found it runs better on Apple's M2 chip, & on Intel machines better than AMD. I get more bugsplats on my new AMD, & had that in the past when I went from Intel to AMD, so am annoyed at myself for forgetting that.
The biggest thing I have found was uninstalling all maps & mods bar just the one I am playing. It makes no sense, but that is a reality. The game has a memory leak, has done since version 1, & I hope like hell they do not make us suffer it in version 3, but expect it to still be there.
None of it really helps, & some of the things do. All I can say is sorry for your issues, but again, for of us, it is still usable & playable.
