Game time extension
MrCrispy,

After I posted this in your main Comments section, I copied and pasted it here and then deleted the original. It seemed to take too much space there.

"Hey, to back the request Ozzy is asking about. Do you think you could add options to extend game times? After quite a struggle I figured how it can be done.

Open the file GDConstantes.ndf at: \GameData\Gameplay\Constantes.

Then replace

ConquestPossibleScores =
[
("CONQ_LOW", 1000),//1000 par défaut, 1800 (30mn) en limité
("CONQ_MED", 2000),//2000 par défaut, 2100 (35mn) en limité

I am aware this will only extend the overall game time and not the phases. And in the lobby time settings will be as follows:

x0.5 = old x0.75
x0.75 = old x1
x1 = old x1.5
x1.5 = new x3
x2 = new x4.5

I am really sorry to even bother you with this request but since SD2 doesn't really make it possibe for submods it is the only option but to ask.

Hi Stonewall,
I can't find that path?
In my gameplay folder, there is "only" a Unit folder.
I can't find a Constantes folder??

I would love to be able to extend game time.

Ah, looks as if you tried going into the moddata folder. Don't change anything in there. You have to double-click on CreateNewMod.bat file in the 'mod' folder. It will create the files for you in a new folder. You should be able to find the GDConstantes there.

After you have made those changes you must double-click the GenerateMod.bat file found inside your new mod folder. Then select the mod to load once you start SD2.

Everytime you make a change you must run the GenerateMod.bat file again or it will not take effect.

Unfortunately, this change will only apply to your own mod. It will not be possible to combine this with the Red Storm 44 mod, nor is it yet possible to mod other people's mod files yet.

I don't like it either, but it's just the way it is.

Damn, so I'm not able to extend gameplay time in Red Storm myself?

And MrCrisp is not willing to make that change himself?

I was wanting to know the reason why, the game sees the need to keep the time short if the players wish to have it made possible because we like the game and it suks to just get it to the point where it is starting to be fun and BAM it ends. Such a waste of 45 mins and a could be a great game.

Sorry to bump this but I wanted to ask because I don't own the game and was thinking of buying it to play this mod. Are the games very short in SD2 even with this mod? In the original you could play unlimited time in skirmish

they have time limits on all matches even skirmishes. longest is around 60 mins

the game is very good and would be perfect if they made time kimit adjustable to the players desire. To make it not have a time limit .

I'd love this extra time option incorporated into Red Storm! For skirmishes it makes it so much more fun.

Eugen is so bloody stubborn, it´s incredible.
We asked for longer matches and more different time-setups since years.

Some like shorter matches, ok, all fine with this.
Some like longer matches, so why not please all of us with OPTIONS for different settings?

This would not "hurt" anybody, people will just play the settings they like.

This beautiful mod improved the game is soooooo many ways, it´s fantastic. If Eugen would try to think at least once in a while, they should offer MrCrisps a job as gamedesigner or something alike and make this mod an official product. Be it a new game or an official addon...

If there is any chance to add more or different time-settings, to let us have longer matches, it would be fantastic. Once in a while, we had some addon available for longer matches or for extending phases x2 times, but they where broken with nearly each and every game patch and abandoned by their devs sooner or later.

Maybe THIS MOD could integrate longer match times, at least for skirmish.
