bumping because i cant figure out how to give them weapons

Same dude, been trying to figure out how to swap out my slav- survivors* weapons since they just go ham with a gun and call all the neighbour hordes right into my base.

Figured out how to swap weapons with them, you just have to equip the weapon you want them to have. But for other stuff, I think Moniker's suggestion is the only way sadly :/

Something I do is play with debug on and you can take control of them. You can swap to that survivor and use it, so I ready the things in a container and then swap, preapare their gear and swap back to my main character.

You can give them cloth and swap your weilded weapon, give them a bottle of liquid and food. But swaping is a must, they don't disinfect, so it's better to prepare disinfected rags and bandages and use them to ready their inventories
