I think that an interesting concept may be that it has 2 fire modes:the M1 fires 1 shot from 1 barrel thats more precise but deals less damage and has less bullet spread and M2 may fire all three barrels at once and they are less precise, but they deal massive damage and has bigger bullet spread and knockback

Maybe slower reload speed and 20% more damage?
