You do have to find a hive, but they're really unbalanced rn. When you find one, press e on it to start an event. Try to avoid everything that spawns, as some of the enemies have millions of health in the later hives.

When time runs out, the enemies will despawn and the hive will give a embryo when e is pressed on it again.
