It would be great for the mac community if you could do this. Very few mod creators go through the effort to make mods non steam compatible.

There is a way to do this, it was mentioned in a Civ fanatics forum post by a mac user, and he/she found out how to install mods using workshop: Here is the link http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=477763 Parts 4-6 are the ones you should read, but if you don't have the mods thing working already, go ahead and do steps 1-3.

Sorry about that. I am new to GitHub so I am still figure it out. For now you can righy-click (or Mac right-click) on the link "Prehistoric Era (BNW) (v8)__v0.2.5a__.civ5mod" and do a "Save As". If it doesn't work I'll figure out how to get a proper download button.
