Concepts for a Murder Varient
Hello, I have come up with some ideas for a seperate version of this gamemode, that may perhaps interest some.

Be warned, this probably does make this somewhat close to our friend, TTT. However, the goal would be to keep the theme of Murder, as well as the gameplay, while making it more complex.

Potential Features:

-Cute fake names of course.

-Three teams, Undercover Cops, Bystanders, and Murderers. No one on each team has any idea who is on the other, or on their team. This is a free-for-all.

-Time limit. Longer based on more players.

-A random set of players from any team spawn with random weapons. Weapons range from melee-weapons to pistols. There are no guns other than various pistol types. Most weapons are melee such as candlesticks or pipes.

-Large maps based off mansions and hotels (as usual) with a small number of random weapon spawns that change each round. Also including 'loot' spawns as in the original Murder.

-All players can drop weapons they pick up, to trade for others or simply hide suspicion

-Local voice chat. No more all talk. You can only talk to people close to you.

-No players are guarenteed to start with weapons or even find weapons.

-All players can search corpses. This identifies who exactly died (their alias, not their steam name), and whether they were killed with melee or firearm. They do not get a time of death, or a 'dna' timer.

-Players who survive a round keep their inventory.

-Melee-weapons only insta-kill from behind. Guns only insta-kill if the target is shot in the chest, stomach, or head.

-Team balance should be that policemen and murderers both have equal players, but bystanders outnumber both.

-All players can hear others' footsteps.

-Weapons are very rare. One to two weapons to start with per team. Even in the map, there should only be a few active spawns every round. Most games, only a small number of players should have weapons. All others should be unarmed, as usual.

-When you kill too many innocents or policemen as one of the same, you lose health, and increase the time limit greatly for murderers.

Team Features:

-Murderers can see footsteps, but only in short bursts (like a sprint bar). They can also lift and hide bodies, as well as their weapons they used to kill people. Their goal is to kill ALL other players, including other killers! Murderers only have the footsteps ability, that is their only advantage over bystanders.

-Bystanders can pick up weapons, and are not forced to drop weapons when killing other innocents or policemen. Their goal is simply to survive the round. If time runs out while there are bystanders alive, the bystanders win. No one else does.

-Policemen can pick up weapons, and are not forced to drop weapons when killing other policemen or innocents. They also have the ability to pinpoint where a killer is (innocent or otherwise) based on a signature from dropped firearms. But only firearms, they cannot locate killers simply based on body analysis, unless they take a risk on killing based on weapon type. Essentially, the policeman's job comes down to 'who did what to whom with what in what room', e.g Clue. The goal for the policemen is to find and kill all Murderers. If all murderers die, the policemen win, the bystanders do not.

All in all, the goal is to create a gamemode much more serious and 'clue like', while still keeping the same Murder style of being frightened and unarmed. Overall, it should be as far from TTT as possible, and the maps should be focused on being balanced for players instead of simply being gimmicky, as in TTT. In other words, this variation should be a mixture of Morbus, TTT, and Murder, with more Murder than anything else.

I don't like the idea of having more than one murderer per round, or the ability to search corpses. It kinda ruins the whole feel of the game.

Also: I think that shooting an innocent bystander should kill the shooter and not the person that was shot. This will keep random killing from ruining the fun, and give people a sense of tension when they shoot somebody that they suspect could be the murderer.

Other than that, great ideas!

@Become Part of Soil For the RDMing, there will probably be karma or server admins to solve that problem.
