sorry for my late response. as for now, 88.4% of the strings are translated. i'd say the early game is playable; there are some rough edges, but it’s functional. that said, a lot of the more crucial late game content, including many recent additions, is still untranslated. scattered tooltip bits and flavor text are also missing. we're aiming to finish the remaining parts this month, so if you want a more polished experience, it might be worth holding off just a bit longer.
Some of the Help Documents upon startup (Great Hakurei Barrier, Gensokyo Battlecruiser, Gensokyo Ascension Perks, Gensokyo Subcapital Buildings, Dreadnaught Design Theory, and Intergalactic Fire Support) are also either partially or wholely untranslated.
There's an Edict that's just ????. I can't give any more details, because the whole thing is ????. It's *not* Automated Publish Spiritual Power or Control Menu.
Description of Great Hakurei Barrier if playing the Lunarian origin is also a bunch of ????'s. "Please Note: ????". Other bits of the description also have ???, but those are clear what they do when hovering with tooltips.
All the capital building descriptions that are unlocked with the Old Gensokyo Building Restore tech have ???s for most of their descriptions.
oh, all those question marks are untranslated strings. chinese text doesn't get displayed properly in stellaris in any language apart from chinese (i guess it doesn't have a font fallback). will fix building tooltips in these days. thank you for your feedback. ^^
I also still get some of the ??? strings, primarily on the modifier of the home planet that tells you the limits of tension on the "Boundary/Spirit World" which I'm still confused as does it get more stronger/bigger number the more I colonize planets/build districts? Or does it stay that way before I research something/go through the archaeology storyline? I'm still in the first 100 years in my save so idk yet.
Yes, I can see the modifier on my home planet (Which is the only one that shows, don't know if other planets are supposed to show this too) but I don't know if this number/limit expands or not since there are some missing strings. Here is what is says for me on the "Great Hakurei Barrier":
"Please Note: ????????"
"??????/??????"
"The buff calculated from the above data and ???????"
if your other colonies are not showing the modifier, it's probably because you didn't use the planetary decisions to establish barriers on other planets. if you don't have an option to do so, maybe you're lacking the required technology. you don't need to do that for your home planet because it already has one.
as for the missing strings, they should be already fixed. please tell me if it didn't.
I had a headache about using loanwords as translations. Hence, I am here to ask opinions of native and non-native English speakers. do you think english words or loanwords feel better for you? For instance, "fantasy" serves as a literal translation, and "genso" serves as a direct loanword from japanese "幻想" (just like Gensokyo ”幻想郷”, although you actually type gensou); Should I use Fantasy Ring World or Genso Ring World for "幻想星环"? Or do you prefer "phantasm" and other words over "fantasy"? Please leave your idea here. This will affect the translation of many strings, and all future translations with similar problems will follow this rule.
Don't worry about it too much! You can toss a coin next time and it would be fine whatever it lands on. People wouldn't mind since most spell cards in official games when translated into English are left very literal (for very understandable reasons). Most people aren't aware of this since they don't speak Japanese and don't read official books.
One of my favorites mentioned in the grimoire of Marisa is 迷津慈航斬 translated as "Slash of Departure from Hesitation". It's missing the context that the slash is ferrying 航 (on a boat with mercy 慈) someone (across the sanzu) away from the world of the lost 迷津 (human realm) AKA killing them. What I meant to say is that, nobody would mind.
that's affirming. i am working hard on finishing the localization quickly. see if i can get you guys an enjoyable version soon.
Unfortunately I couldn't see if it was fixed cause "Resource Patch" was updated and now I cant load back into my save (Idk whether its this mod or something else). Anyways, I took a screenshot yesterday but forgot to reply to this thread to show you what I was talking about: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3562182748
It probably has been fixed but it seems that my modlist doesn't work anymore on my save so I might need do another new game, though I might wait since you said your working more on localisation which is nice! The Lunar archaeology storyline has some missing strings as well as some later events but I'd rather wait for that to be done.
This is such a good mod! I loved the tech and events but I'd rather wait to be fully immersed later on with fully translation.
