It currently works on whether the AI is "aware" of you. I believe the same thing that triggers their combat stance. The Undercover system is due a rewrite in one of the future updates which will make undercover work more viable.

Alrighty, thank you, that helps a lot. Just gotta stick with going commando right now, lol.

opinion of someone who knows service and a player of the map... if you were spotted planting a bomb on something every service member that was on radio freq and heard it would be looking for you.... annoying yes real thought 100%

but jerry what you can do to figure a few things out to help these guys make a report on undercover findings ... llike was the patrol there where u left the car do some saves and hit the same thing over and over see what u find does the squad apear from no where ... can u go take that patrol out then go undercover then plant ... would be harder but see what u can uncover... in the end you learn whats going on in the map around you that u cant see might save you sometime... if u know the game might spawn a patrol on you (which it shouldn't but does sometimes) u might be more careful... and how does it affect you playing remember this is a military simulator to simulate real life war situations sure its fun but arma is limited to what it can and what it WANTS to do
