It's been about a year since I released this map, and I thought i'd be nice to shed some light on the progress of the Hometown map teased during the "ending" of this map. Long story short, there is currently 0% progress on it unfortunately. However, that does not mean that no work has been put into trying making it, quite the contrary actually...

Back about three months after I released the Card Castle map, I started some vague early work on the Hometown map. Specifically, some of the interior of the School. After working on this off and on for a couple weeks I started really getting into making the rest of the town. Not long after a the exterior to the School, and a few buildings near it. I even got around to making custom models for the trees that are all over the town. From there, I started spreading out and remaking even more of the town in Hammer. During this I had gotten a job, which was nice for some money on the side, but this effected some of the time I could spend working on the map. It was a slight issue, nothing too bad.

By close to the end of 2019, a pretty decent chunk of Hometown was finished. All of the streets and exterior buildings linked from the School, to where Napstablook's house is were done. Yes, that includes the funny skeleton man's house as well. There was still a long way to go even from there, but I was making mostly fast progress on the project. Besides the whole town, I mainly wanted to include all of the interiors to the buildings at were shown in Deltarune, and perhaps even some custom ones.

Everything quickly turned for the worst. My computer's motherboard had fried after a few battery related issues. Me being me, I never thought that everything on that computer, past and current projects, could disappear that quickly. Due to me being very careful to all of my projects, most, if not all we're never backed up on websites or sent to friends. It was an awful decision that I had went with for the longest time without any repercussions. Fate finally had caught up to me, and there was nothing I could do. I unfortunately didn't know about the motherboard issue for quite sometime. After it bugging out, and the computer not wanting to turn on, I quickly sent it to a local professional. It took about two, close to three months to get a solid answer. For the life of me, I have no real idea why it took this long, I suppose it was due to the holiday months, and it being small business. I went thought tons and tons of neglect, thinking that when I heard back from them, it'd be some good news, that my computer was in a good state. Nope.

So, where are we now? Well it took some time, surviving a pandemic, and a whole lotta saving, but... I can say happily that I have a new >Graphic Intensive Mega Gamer PC!< I've had it for a few weeks now, and it's been treating me very well. But, every once in awhile I get that itch. That need to try again on Hometown, and aim even higher. There's no doubt that I'll most likely comeback and start on the project from scratch. However, I can't guarantee it'll be anytime soon. I am just one guy goofing around on a computer after all. We shall see...
